Experience: Senior recruiter, ideally Director or Lead on a small desk
Salary: £40,000 Billing consultant - £70,000 basic for Director + uncapped commission up to 40%
The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established recruitment business to appoint a Practice Desk Lead / Director to launch and grow a small Accountancy & Finance practice desk.
This is a unique chance to take ownership of a niche desk, shape its strategy, and progress to Director level. The role is designed for senior recruiters capable of billing £200-250k+ annually, with clear growth and high earning potential.
The Role
- Build and manage a small practice desk focused on Accountancy & Finance candidates
- Recruit across Public and Private Sector practices
- Full ownership of the desk: client acquisition, candidate sourcing, and placements
- Provide advisory support and market insight to clients
- Implement desk strategy and processes for growth
- Mentor and guide junior recruiters as the desk expands
- Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline management
The Ideal Candidate
- Director, Lead, or senior-level experience running a small practice desk or niche team
- Proven track record in Accountancy & Finance recruitment, ideally including Public Practice
- Commercially minded, autonomous, and entrepreneurial
- Comfortable with a start-up desk environment – ability to grow and scale
- Based in or commuting to Liverpool

Commission & Earnings
- Base salary: Up to £70,000
- - Commission staggered from 15% → 40% depending on quarterly billing
- Expected billing £250k+ annually, translating to £60k+ commission per quarter
