The Branch Manager will lead and develop the Manchester office of an established education recruitment agency, driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership, a proven background in recruitment (must be education sector), and the ability to build and maintain long-lasting client and candidate relationships.
Job duties:
Branch Leadership & Management
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of consultants, resources, and support staff.
Set clear performance objectives and ensure achievement of individual and team targets.
Deliver effective training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safeguarding legislation, and recruitment best practice.
Business Development & Client Management
Drive new business opportunities across schools, academies, colleges, and nurseries in Manchester and surrounding areas.
Build strong, consultative relationships with key education stakeholders.
Negotiate terms of business and ensure service delivery meets client expectations.
Operational & Financial Performance
Manage P&L, budgets, and forecasting for the branch.
Ensure consistent growth in revenue, margin, and candidate placements.
Monitor KPIs and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Recruitment & Candidate Management
Oversee candidate attraction, compliance, and retention strategies.
Ensure safeguarding and vetting procedures are rigorously followed.
Promote a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
Strategic Contribution
Collaborate with senior management on regional growth strategies.
Identify new markets, trends, and opportunities within the education recruitment sector.
Represent the business at networking events, industry conferences, and education forums.What’s on offer:
Job Requirements
Essential:
Proven experience as a Recruitment Branch Manager, Team Leader, or Senior Consultant within the
education recruitment sector.
Strong track record of achieving and exceeding financial and business targets.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Commercially astute with strong business development capabilities.
In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, compliance, and education recruitment regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Desirable:
Existing relationships with schools and educational institutions in the Manchester/North West region.
Experience managing multi-disciplinary recruitment desks (Primary, Secondary, SEN, FE, Early Years).
